> Mutable and immutable storage The other two types of storage are mutable and immutable storage. The data stored in mutable storage can be changed or overwritten, that is the data written could be changed. Whereas the data stored in immutable storage cannot be changed, if the data burnt in the immutable storage device, the data cannot be changed. Data in immutable storage cannot be changed. So it is better to store data in mutable storage because it could be changed. All programs and data on hard disk drives use the mutable storage devices. Some areas of the hard disk can be logically made immutable such as file system permission. The super user is normally not affected by permissions thus allowing some attacks to succeed. Some operating systems extend logical immutability so data remains immutable even if an attacker gains super user access. Attackers may be able to destroy the data but they can't change it. The mutable storage class is used only on a class data member to make it modifiable even though the member is part of an object declared. You cannot use the mutable with names declared as static or constant members. The Mutable storage in the past few months are still under development. Mutable storage is far more than software packages: it is indeed a new funda for the development and deployment of applications. The design of a mutable is dealing with songs and videos that never get updated. Thus projects, our design are not aimed to support read and write operations, but also an update facility. This enhancement will greatly enrich the possibilities of peer-to-peer networks. The goals of Mutable storage are to introduce a overview of related work. Our design of a mutable storage system is having some potential advantages and disadvantages. The web publishing system is highly resistant to censorship. who post information, servers, which host random-looking content, and retrievers, who browse the documents stored in the system. We can able to deal with any kind of static content, for instance, HTML pages and interactive scripting. Most of the research has been related to security issues. The main contribution of Mutable storage include an automatic tamper checking mechanism, a facility which is used to update and delete published material, for publishing mutually content. Designing a mutable storage system requires the sketch to design of our mutable storage system. The main assumption which was made during the development of the mutable storage devices are that the model that should be based on the users and the users are not be responsible for the allocation of space. Thus, the immutable storage system could be used to store the systems program and the other back files which have not to undergo the changes and the mutable storage could be used to store the application data where the user continuously refers the data and keeps on changing the data. Thus, the mutable storage system is far more good then immutable storage. |
